Bybit requires users to complete the KYC process before they can buy or sell cryptocurrencies. Individual identity verification is divided into three levels: Standard, Advanced and Pro. The differences in benefits and withdrawal limits between these three levels can be found in the section entitled Benefits of different Verification (KYC) levels. KYC involves two to four steps, depending upon the level:

• Proof-of-Identity (Standard)

• Identity Assessment (Standard)

• Proof of Address (Advanced)

• Enhanced Due Diligence (Pro)

Follow the detailed step-by-step guide here in order to complete the process.

Buying/selling crypto on Bybit

Bybit P2P

Bybit’s P2P platform lets users trade crypto directly with others, with local payment methods.

The benefits of P2P include the following:

• Zero transaction fees: Bybit doesn’t charge any fees for P2P trading, thus lowering the barrier of entry and allowing traders to keep more of their crypto.

• Multiple currencies and payment methods: Bybit P2P trading supports over 600 payment methods and more than 370 currencies, making P2P trading flexible and easy to use.

• Security: Both buyers and advertisers on the platform need to complete KYC verification. All P2P advertisers are selected based on strict criteria, which increases security.

To start P2P trading on Bybit, follow our step-by-step guide below.

Step 1: On the Home tab, tap on More followed by P2P Trading.

To buy coins with P2P Block, tap on the P2P Trading drop-down at the top of the page and select Block Trade.

Step 2: On the Buy page, you can filter advertisers based on different criteria, such as Coin Type, Amount, Fiat Currencies, Payment Methods and more.

Please note that in each advertisement, you’ll see the following:

a) The numbers displaying order quantity and percentage on the right-hand side, which refer to the following parameters:

• Number of orders made in the past 30 days

• Completion rate in the past 30 days

b) Price refers to the reference price that counterparties are offering.

c) Quantity and Limits display the available balance for this advertisement, as well as the minimum and maximum transaction limits per order in fiat terms.

d) The last row of the advertisement displays the Payment Method. You can view all supported payment methods for the advertisement you've selected.

e) Verification Required refers to the Verified Advertiser (VA) and Block Advertiser (BA) requesting takers to provide certain proofs before proceeding with orders. The proof might be a liveness check, photo ID, proof of payment, bank statement or additional identity verification.

Step 3: Choose the advertisement that matches your needs, and tap on its corresponding Buy button.

Step 4: Input the amount of fiat you want to pay or the amount of coins you would like to receive, and tap on Buy to proceed.

Please note that some orders will require verification if you exceed a certain amount. This requirement will be mentioned under the Requires Verification segment.

Step 5a: For orders that require verification:

You’ll be redirected to a page on which a countdown timer is in place for you to complete verification. Simply tap on Verify Now and provide the required proof.

Once the order has been approved by the merchant, you’ll see the order page with a countdown timer for transferring the money to the seller’s bank account.

You can proceed to make payment in fiat. Please ensure that you’re transferring the correct amount to the correct account via the correct methods. After you’ve done so, tap on the Pay Now button to notify the seller.

If you wish to cancel the payment without completing verification, or the proof is rejected by the merchant, the cancellation will not affect your completion rate. However, there is a daily cancellation limit, and exceeding this limit will result in a 24-hour restriction on your ability to conduct P2P Trading. During this time, you’ll have to wait for the restriction to be lifted.

Step 5b: For orders that do not require verification:

You’ll be redirected to the order page with a countdown timer for transferring the money to the seller’s bank account. You can proceed to make payment in fiat. Please ensure that you’re transferring the correct amount to the correct account via the correct methods. After you’ve done so, tap on the Pay Now button to notify the seller.

Notes:

• You can communicate with the seller in real time by tapping on Contact Seller.

• Your order will automatically be cancelled if you fail to transfer the funds to the seller within the given time, or if your account has insufficient funds.

• If you’re paying via fiat balance, but the fiat currency in your Funding Account is insufficient, you can tap on Make Deposit on the Order page to deposit more funds.

• Make sure not to include sensitive words on your reference ID (if any), such as “BTC/USDT purchase” when transferring funds. Otherwise, the transaction may fail.

Tips for what to do when the transaction is unsuccessful:

• Make sure that the seller’s receiving account details are correct.

• Confirm whether the payment method you’re using supports real-time transfers. Otherwise, it may take some time to complete the payment.

• Contact your bank or third-party payment platform to find out why the deposit was unsuccessful.

Step 6a: You might be required to submit the payment receipt or enter the transfer amount in the pop-up window before completing the transaction. Verify the details, and tap on Confirm.

Please note that you'll only be able to tap on the Confirm button after you’ve submitted the payment proof or entered the exact amount you’re required to pay.

Step 6b: If you’re not required to submit any proof, you can simply tap on Payment Completed after you’ve completed the payment.

Step 7: Once the coins you’ve purchased are released by the seller, you’ll be able to view them in your Funding Account under the Assets tab.

If you’ve activated Savings Subscription upon P2P purchase, the coins will be directly credited to your Earn Account.

To view your order history, navigate back to the advertiser list and tap on the Order History icon in the upper-right corner.

In the event that the seller fails to release the coins after 10 minutes, you may submit an appeal by clicking on the Order Dispute? Button. Our customer support team will assist you in the Order Chat Box. During this period, please do not cancel the order, unless you’ve received a refund from your seller.

The ensuing refund process may take 7–14 working days, assuming all required information has been provided upon request.
