How to invest in gold on Bybit

Gold has long been used as a store of value during periods of inflation, currency weakness and market uncertainty. Today, tokenized gold assets such as Tether Gold (XAUT) make it easier for crypto users to access gold exposure without holding physical bullion or opening a traditional brokerage account.

On Bybit, users can access XAUT through several Earn products, including Easy Earn, Dual Asset, Double-Win and Liquidity Mining. Each product offers a different way to put tokenized gold to work, from flexible yield generation to more advanced structured strategies.

In this guide, we’ll explain how XAUT works, how to invest XAUT on Bybit and how to compare the risk and reward profile of each available product.

Key Takeaways:

• Tether Gold (XAUT) is a tokenized gold asset designed to track the value of physical gold while remaining transferable and usable within crypto products.

• Bybit users can access XAUT investment opportunities through Easy Earn, Dual Asset, Double-Win and Liquidity Mining, subject to product availability.

• The Easy Earn product is apt for beginning traders, while Dual Asset, Double-Win and Liquidity Mining might suit the goals of more experienced traders.

How to invest in gold on Bybit

Bybit offers you a number of ways to invest in gold, primarily via the XAUT tokenized gold cryptocurrency. XAUT is the market’s leading gold-backed crypto, with a market cap in excess of $2.7 billion as of May 15, 2026. Issued by Tether Ltd., the company behind the Tether (USDT) stablecoin, XAUT is fully backed by physical gold reserves held in vaults in Switzerland. The coin tracks the price of one troy ounce of gold, allowing you to benefit from the gold’s record-breaking performance.

There are four products on Bybit to match the needs of crypto investors interested in gold: Easy Earn, Dual Asset, Double-Win and Liquidity Mining. Each of these has a different risk profile and complexity. In the sections below, we’ll describe these products in detail and show you how you can invest in them using the XAUT coin.

Earning gold interest on Easy Earn

Bybit’s Easy Earn lets you earn yield on your idle crypto funds via both Flexible Term and Fixed Term savings plans. Instead of letting your unused funds sit passively in your account, you can allocate them to Easy Earn to benefit from guaranteed yields. Flexible Term Easy Earn savings plans are exactly what their name suggests: they let you invest your assets whenever you need, and withdraw at any time to provide you with complete flexibility. There are no withdrawal fees, penalties or lockup periods; simply start and stop investing and earning yield when you prefer. The interest you earn on your Flexible Term plan is variable.

If you prefer the predictability of fixed yield, you can choose a Fixed Term Easy Earn plan. Available for investment periods of between three and 180 days, these plans provide a guaranteed, pre-specified interest rate.

The main advantages of Easy Earn are guaranteed yields, low risk and the straightforward, beginner-friendly nature of the product.

Accumulate gold on Dual Asset

Dual Asset allows you to speculate on the price direction of a cryptocurrency over a short-term period, such as one day, three days or even less than a day. If you’re bullish on the asset, you would choose the Buy Low option. Conversely, if you’re bearish on the asset’s short-term prospects, you would go with the Sell High option.

If you choose Buy Low for XAUT, and the coin’s price at settlement is below the target price, you’ll purchase XAUT with USDT and receive interest on top of it. If the settlement price is above the target price, you’ll receive the invested USDT amount back plus interest income in USDT.

The Sell High option works in the opposite direction. If the settlement price is above the target price, your XAUT will successfully be sold for USDT. On the other hand, if the settlement price is below the target price, the sale of XAUT won’t be executed, and you’ll receive your interest in XAUT.

Dual Asset is a great product for short-term–focused traders and can deliver enhanced yields. However, it comes with its own risks, including potential losses due to market volatility and no principal protection.

Amplify your returns on gold via Double-Win

Double-Win is a structured product that allows you to pick a price range for an asset and earn yield, depending upon whether the price at settlement stays within or outside the range. You can invest in XAUT and choose a preferred price range on which to speculate. There are two options to choose from: Win or Lose.

When you choose the Win option, you’ll receive your XAUT back and additionally earn leveraged yield if the settlement price for the coin falls outside the selected price range in either direction. If the settlement price of XAUT stays within the range, you’ll lose your XAUT principal.

The reverse is true for the Lose option. Under this option, you’ll get your investment back and earn leveraged yield if the settlement price stays within the range. If the price at settlement falls outside the range in either direction, your XAUT investment will be lost.

Double-Win’s main advantages include potentially high yields and the ability to speculate on price change in either direction in volatile markets. At the same time, this is a high-risk product that may lead to the loss of your entire principal.

Earn yield by depositing gold on Liquidity Mining

Liquidity Mining lets you allocate your crypto funds to various automated market maker (AMM) pools to earn rewards in the form of fees and tokens. Leverage of up to 10x is also supported. You can earn great yields with this product, particularly when using leverage. Unlike Double-Win and Dual Asset, which are short-term products, Liquidity Mining may also suit investors with a longer-term investment outlook.

As with any other web3 liquidity provision activity, you run the risk of impermanent loss when you invest via Liquidity Mining. The use of leverage may also amplify both your potential gains and losses, and expose your position to the risk of liquidation.

Why gold remains relevant to crypto investors

Gold continues to play an important role in global markets because it is commonly viewed as a store of value, portfolio diversifier and potential hedge during periods of uncertainty. Unlike fiat currencies or company shares, gold is not tied to a single government, central bank or business model, which is why many investors look to it when markets become more volatile.

For crypto users, tokenized gold bridges this traditional asset with blockchain-based access. Instead of buying physical bullion or using a traditional gold broker, users can gain exposure through gold-backed tokens such as XAUT. This makes gold easier to transfer, trade and use within selected crypto products.

However, tokenized gold still carries risks. XAUT’s price can move with the broader gold market, and access to specific products, APRs and investment terms may change based on market conditions and platform availability. Users should compare each product carefully before investing.

Conclusion

XAUT gives Bybit users a crypto-native way to access gold exposure while exploring different yield opportunities beyond simply holding the asset. Easy Earn may suit users looking for a simpler and more flexible option, while Dual Asset, Double-Win and Liquidity Mining are designed for users who are comfortable with more advanced product mechanics, including settlement outcomes, market movement risk, impermanent loss and potential principal loss.
