Placing a large order in a fast-moving crypto market often means watching the price slip away from you before your fill is complete. Manual execution can force traders to balance speed, price control and trading costs. Strategy order tools help manage these trade-offs by automating the logic behind how orders are executed, not just the price you want.Bybit offers seven strategy execution tools that cover everything from splitting large orders over time to automating an entire TradingView strategy. Together they form one of the most comprehensive execution suites among the major exchanges reviewed.
Key Takeaways:
Bybit offers seven strategy order tools covering execution, automation and arbitrage.
These tools help reduce slippage, save on fees, hide order size and automate strategies without building custom bots.
Bybit makes advanced execution tools accessible to retail traders, with availability spanning Spot and Futures depending on the tool.
Strategy order tools are advanced execution tools that automate or streamline trading logic beyond basic market and limit orders. Instead of placing one order and hoping for the best, they break your intent into smarter steps based on time, volume, price levels or external signals.
They solve three core problems that active traders face daily. First, slippage on large orders: a market order that is large relative to available liquidity can move through multiple price levels before it fills, resulting in a worse average execution price. Second, fee drag: traders who cross the spread repeatedly pay taker fees that compound over hundreds of trades per month. Third, manual monitoring: watching charts around the clock to reprice limit orders or catch funding rate windows isn't sustainable, and a missed window often means a missed opportunity.
Bybit integrates these tools into its trading ecosystem without requiring institutional-only access, although market, account and platform requirements vary by tool.
TWAP splits a large order into smaller sub-orders executed at regular intervals over a set duration. If you need to enter or exit a large position without placing the full order at once, TWAP spreads execution across minutes or hours to help reduce market impact. It works on both Spot and Futures, making it useful whether you're building a Spot position or adjusting derivatives exposure.
Iceberg orders hide your true order size by showing only a small visible portion in the order book. Each time a slice fills, the next one appears automatically. This reduces how much of your order is visible at once, helping limit market signaling and the risk of other participants reacting to your full position size. Bybit offers four order preferences, with Price Limit controls available for supported Chase Limit modes.
POV adjusts sub-order size according to a target participation rate. Depending on the mode, execution responds to recent traded volume or available liquidity on the same or opposite side of the order book. This lets execution adapt to current market volume or liquidity rather than being locked to rigid time intervals. Bybit offers three POV modes, including two depth-based modes for Futures. In Bybit's competitive review, no other exchange assessed offered comparable depth-based POV execution on Futures.
Chase Limit automatically adjusts a limit order according to your selected chase rule as market prices move. You can chase the best bid or ask directly or maintain a fixed distance from it, with optional Maximum Chase Distance and Trigger Price controls. Orders are Post-Only by default to seek maker execution.
Scaled Orders let you place multiple limit orders across a defined price range in one action on both Spot and Futures. You set the upper and lower bounds, choose the number of sub-orders and select one of four distributions: Flat, Increasing, Decreasing or Custom. For Custom distribution, a single order can be split into 2–100 sub-orders. This is useful for building into positions on pullbacks or creating grid-like exposure without running a dedicated bot.
Bybit Arbitrage helps execute two-leg funding rate and spread strategies across supported Spot, Perpetual and Futures markets. Both legs can be placed together, while Smart Rebalance checks filled quantities every two seconds and can place a market order on the lagging leg to restore balance.
Webhook connects TradingView strategy alerts directly to Bybit without requiring a separate trading bot or additional middleware. Once your TradingView strategy triggers an alert, Bybit can automatically place the configured order. The feature is available for supported Derivatives contracts and requires a TradingView plan with webhook access.
Your choice depends on what you're trying to optimize:
Minimize slippage on large positions → TWAP, Iceberg or POV
Reduce trading fees → Chase Limit
Build positions across a price range → Scaled Order
Execute funding rate or spread arbitrage strategies → Arbitrage
Automate a backtested TradingView strategy → Webhook
The right starting point depends on your execution needs. Chase Limit may suit active traders seeking maker execution without constant manual repricing, while TWAP, Iceberg and POV are designed for larger orders or liquidity-sensitive execution. Webhook is more relevant to traders who already use TradingView strategies.
Strategy order tools give traders more control over how their orders are executed. Whether you need to move size without being fully visible in the book, seek maker execution to manage trading costs or automate a strategy you've already validated, Bybit's suite covers these use cases without requiring a custom execution bot or institutional-only access.
