TradFi Copy Trading is designed for accessibility, but it carries real market risks — review Master Trader profiles and set appropriate exit tools before committing funds.
Bybit TradFi Copy Trading is a MetaTrader 5–based copy trading system that lets investors automatically replicate the trading strategies of experienced traders across forex, indices, stock CFDs and commodities.
With Master Traders earning additional income from their followers' successful trades, the platform serves as a bridge between those seeking to profit from TradFi markets and experienced traders willing to share their expertise.
Bybit TradFi Copy Trading operates on a straightforward signal-copying mechanism whereby followers automatically replicate the trades of their chosen Master Traders. The platform uses the high water mark (HWM) principle for profit sharing, ensuring Master Traders are rewarded only when they exceed their previous performance peaks.
Let's look at a detailed breakdown of how the system works for both parties.
To become a Master Trader, individuals must first apply using an eligible Bybit Subaccount. Upon approval, an MT5 account is automatically created, enabling them to start trading. Master Traders need to install and configure the MetaTrader 5 platform before they can execute trades, which will then be copied by their followers in real time.
Master Traders earn a profit-sharing fee linked to their rank on the platform. The profit-sharing rate applicable to each Master Trader is displayed on their profile. For a full breakdown of rates and how calculations work, refer to the TradFi Profit Sharing Explained guide. This profit-sharing process occurs weekly, every Sunday at 12 AM MT5 server time. The HWM principle ensures Master Traders receive profit sharing only when a follower's cumulative net profits exceed the previous High Water Mark (HWM). Follower limits also vary by Master Trader rank.
To participate in Bybit TradFi Copy Trading, Master Traders must use USDx (an internal balance unit at a 1:1 ratio with USDT) as the margin for their trading positions. The platform generally operates from Monday at 12 AM to Friday at 11:59 PM MT5 server time, although individual contracts may follow different trading sessions or holiday schedules. You can check notifications on the TradFi Copy Trading homepage for the latest updates. Master Traders can update their profit-sharing ratio once every 24 hours, and changes take effect after a delayed effective date. The platform uses Tight-Spread mode by default, which cannot be changed, ensuring all trades execute with minimal slippage. Available instruments include forex pairs, indices, stock CFDs and commodities.
Followers can choose their preferred Master Traders from the leaderboard, allowing them to align with traders whose strategies match their investment goals. Funds transfer automatically when copy trading begins. To start copy trading, followers must invest a minimum of 100 USDx, while the maximum investment amount is capped at 1,000,000 USDx per Master Trader. Note that an individual Master Trader may set a higher minimum investment requirement. Additionally, followers can follow up to 10 different Master Traders at the same time, diversifying their trading exposure.
When a follower subscribes to a Master Trader, their positions are copied proportionally based on the follower's investment size. As opposed to traditional trading, followers do not have the option to manually close positions. However, they can set Take-Profit (TP), Stop-Loss (SL) and Trailing Stop levels to manage risk and exit positions. Triggering a TP/SL level closes the position and also automatically unfollows the Master Trader. Exiting is otherwise possible by unfollowing the Master Trader directly.
Followers can also set an optional Asset Threshold Alert, which sends a notification when the account value reaches a specified level. This alert does not close positions — it is for monitoring purposes only.
The fund management process is designed to be seamless, with automatic fund transfers occurring when followers initiate copy trading. If a follower decides to stop copying a Master Trader, their funds are automatically returned to their Funding Account, minus any pending profit share owed to the Master Trader. If a follower re-follows a Master Trader after stopping, the HWM resets to zero. Followers can manage their investment amounts through the User Center, providing them with greater control over their capital allocation.
Bybit TradFi Copy Trading offers the compelling benefits listed below for both Master Traders looking to monetize their expertise and followers seeking expert trading strategies.
MT5 integration provides access to diverse markets including forex pairs, indices, stock CFDs and commodities, allowing traders to maximize earning potential. This exposure helps investors diversify their portfolios beyond cryptocurrency markets, optimizing asset allocation while minimizing risk through TradFi markets.
Bybit TradFi Copy Trading creates opportunities for passive income through the replication of expert strategies, without requiring followers to have prior trading experience. Its automatic trade execution and position management system removes the complexity of manual trading. Followers can use Trailing Stop and Take-Profit/Stop-Loss tools to automate exits, while clear performance metrics help evaluate Master Traders' potential.
Master Traders can establish a consistent additional income stream by earning a profit share linked to their rank, from their followers' successful trades. With no initial performance requirements and rank-based follower limits, experienced traders can quickly start monetizing their expertise while building a trading community. Master Traders can also use Invitation Links and a Follower Whitelist to manage and grow that community.
The platform uses MetaTrader 5's robust infrastructure, offering fast execution speeds, comprehensive multi-asset trading support and built-in Tight-Spread mode. Advanced charting and analysis tools help traders make informed decisions, while transparent performance tracking ensures accountability.
As with any trading platform, Bybit TradFi Copy Trading comes with inherent risks that both Master Traders and followers need to understand.
Past performance does not guarantee future results in financial markets. Even experienced Master Traders with strong track records can experience losses, and followers should carefully evaluate their risk tolerance before committing capital to copy trading strategies. Note also that position data updates every five minutes rather than in real time, which means the figures you see may not reflect the very latest market movements.
Followers may experience different entry prices from their Master Traders, due to market conditions, network delays or timing differences. These price discrepancies can impact profitability and yield, varying returns between Master Traders and their followers.
TradFi Copy Trading is paused on weekends, public holidays and during system maintenance. Individual contracts may also follow their own trading sessions that differ from the platform's general schedule. Followers should be aware that positions cannot be opened or copied during these paused periods, which may affect their ability to respond to market events.
It is imperative to note that international financial markets are affected by geopolitical events, macroeconomic data, regulatory changes and liquidity conditions beyond Bybit's control. Before investing, followers should understand the markets their chosen Master Traders trade.
The profit-sharing model follows the High Water Mark (HWM) principle. Master Traders receive profit sharing only when a follower's cumulative net profits exceed the previous High Water Mark, ensuring profit sharing is based on consistent profitability rather than the same gains being rewarded repeatedly.

TradFi Copy Trading specializes in TradFi markets, offering access to forex, indices, stock CFDs and commodities via MT5. In contrast, Copy Trading Classic focuses on USDT Perpetual contracts, while Copy Trading Pro encompasses Spot trading and both USDT and USDC Perpetual contracts.
For TradFi Copy Trading, followers cannot manually close positions and must rely on TP/SL orders, Trailing Stop or completely unfollowing the Master Trader to exit trades. Copy Trading Classic offers flexibility, allowing followers to set various parameters including leverage and margin mode. Copy Trading Pro represents the other end of the spectrum, whereby Pro Masters have complete control over investors' funds.
Each platform implements a different profit-sharing model. TradFi Copy Trading calculates profit sharing using the HWM principle, with profit-sharing ratios based on the Master Trader's rank. Copy Trading Classic pre-deducts profit sharing from followers' daily profits before reconciling the final amount on settlement day. Copy Trading Pro also uses the HWM principle, allowing Pro Masters to set profit-sharing ratios of up to 30%.
TradFi Copy Trading has no specific performance requirements for Master Traders, though MT5 trading expertise is essential. Copy Trading Pro maintains the strictest standards, requiring Pro Masters to meet specific trading criteria and maintain minimum balance requirements. Meanwhile, Copy Trading Classic remains the most accessible option, with no performance prerequisites for Master Traders.
